Emergency Realignment. An emergency realignment condition exists when team productivity drops well below an acceptable level and there appears to be no hope for self correction. Normally, these conditions are confined to a team or work group of approximately 15 or fewer people. Characteristically there is an apparent value clash that polarizes the group or alienates the group for others who depend on their products and services. The emergency realignment service is designed to accelerate the process of identifying the root cause of the impasse and developing a temporary course of action that can allow work to progress with minimal interruption. Typically, the emergency realignment service is undertaken with the understanding that the requirement to engage in these services of a deeper problem in the larger organization. Emergency realignment services can predictably make sufficient progress in three days to resume minimally productive operations. All parties must agree to the broadest possible solutions options in order to enable striking an agree to continue work at an acceptable level, however.

Allows the organization to learn that it can find its own problems and overcome
them - instills confidence.
