The ODI Quality of WorkLife Center
at the Harbor in Hampton, Virginia

A. Driving to the Quality of WorkLife Center.

The ODI Quality of WorkLife Center is located in downtown Hampton Virginia on the waterfront adjacent to the city docks. When entering downtown Hampton on Settlers Landing Road from Interstate 64 (Exit 267), one crosses a bridge ending at the Radisson Hotel entrance. Turn left at this traffic light, and park in the parking garage (there is no parking fee).

When exiting the parking garage (on the Radisson Hotel side), turn left and walk toward the Hampton Visitors Center. Follow the parking garage contour to the left along beside the Miss Hampton II Tour Boat. The Quality of WorkLife Center is at dockside just beyond the Harbor Master and Decision 1 offices.

We recommend staying at the Radisson Hotel ( 757 727-9700 or 1 800 333-333). When making reservations, inform the clerk you're an ODI guest and receive a complementary discount. Most fine hotels serve the immediate area if others are preferred. Other nearby options include:

Holiday Inn Hampton Coliseum
(757) 838-0200
1815 W. Mercury Blvd.

Quality Inn
(757) 838-5011
Mercury Blvd. & Coliseum Dr.

Courtyard by Marriott
(757) 838-3300
1917 Coliseum Dr.

The ODI Quality of WorkLife Center is located on the ground level of the garage, along the waterside. Either the elevator or stairs at either end of the garage can be used to get the ground level.

In inclement weather, ODI will greet guests at the elevator lobby to allow indoor access to our facility through a rear corridor.

B. Arriving by Air.

Either the Williamsburg-Newport News International Airport or the Norfolk International Airport is equally convenient for Center guests. Arrivals at rush hour through Norfolk may slow ground transportation progress due to tunnel congestion. Airline selections are greater through Norfolk, however.

Arrangements can be made for airport pickup through the Radisson if you will be staying there, or with airport limousine services. Both airports have full service car rental options.

C. Arrival by Ferry.

The Norfolk - Hampton ferry service will be available. The ferry docks at the Hampton Visitors Center only about 100 steps from our front door and is a major convenience for those attending our sessions from the downtown Norfolk. It also provides an attractive feature for those attending with their families, as Norfolk tourism is increasingly attractive.

D. Arriving by Train.

AmTrak service at adjacent Newport News is available daily for those who desire a full travel adventure. AmTrak service ranged from coach to Deluxe Sleeping accommodations. Taxi service is always available from the AmTrak station to the ProZone.

E. The Regional Perspective.

Our territory is a unique region formerly popularized by the term "tidewater" but more recently known as Hampton Roads. Our population base is 1.5 million people strong, with a heavy concentration of military from all services. There are distinct cultures on the Peninsula and the Southside (of our Hampton Roads Bay at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. As a seaport, Hampton Roads forms the mid-Atlantic gateway to the worlds ocean commerce. From our earliest English-speaking settlement at Jamestown to preparation for spaceflight across the universe, Hampton Roads has been a consistent leader steeped in history, and tempered by preparations for the future.

Two states (Virginia and North Carolina) and a combination of 15 city and county governments encompass the Hampton Roads Region (listed from north to south): In Virginia; Gloucester County, Mathews County, James City County, the City of Williamsburg, York County, Isle of Wight County, the cities of Newport News, Poquoson, Hampton, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and the lone North Carolina county of Currituck.

The ODI Quality of WorkLife Center is located in the very heart of Hampton Roads.

F. The Prime Mid-Atlantic Site.

The Hampton Roads Region is a prime location along the eastern mid-Atlantic seacoast. We are in an ideal position to draw attention from as far away as Philadelphia, PA, to the north, and Columbia, SC, to the south. And our reach extends to Columbus, OH, to the west.
