Room
Layout
Not all rooms can be laid out in an ideal
configuration. The following layout is for a group of from about 15 to about 20.
The FRONT of the room is oriented toward the bottom of the page. The front and sides
of the room are used to "hang" paper. Painters tape is used for chart hanging
and does not damage the walls in any way. It is better to have the room laid out
so that the greater room width is from side to side.
Entrance/Exit: It is best to have guests enter and exit the room from doors
in the "back" of the room.
Back of the Room Table: A table in
the back of the room can best be used for beverage and snack service. Some materials
can also be displayed on this table.
Participant Tables (Fan): Up to seven
tables can be used. "Rounds" are not recommended. The length of the table
will support five or seven participants.
Chairs: Swivel, rockers with
arms are best.
Side Table: For materials and to cover cartons used to transport
materials into the room.
Front Table: Used for computer, projector, speakers,
markers, Client Storage boxes, handouts, etc.
Easels with Pads*: Flip
charts. Prefer NOT to have Post-it sheets or slick dry-erase sheets.
Screen:
Large enough for all participants to see easily.
Trash Basket: Large enough
to discard materials that include flip chart paper.
